MIGHTY MINION MANIA CONTINUES

Wow! we cannot believe that we have reached the end of our first term together. It has been a terrific and busy learning term. This week we have focussed on art and adding texture into our art. We made African tribal necklaces for writing and sandpaper leaves as well. This helped us to use some awesome adjectives (describing words) in our writing.

Check it out!

stay tuned more to come =)

Our Cultures: "We are all different branches of the same tree"

This week the Mighty Minions were learning about the different cultures of each class member. It was really interesting listening to the music from the different cultures and researching information.

We created a class cultural tree to represent how we are all different but joined together as well. The kite represents us all soaring to success.

Have a look at some of the photos and comments the children made:

"Our cultural tree looks really cool. I liked learning about different cultures."- Ngaau

First we decorated the tree by adding lots of different brown stuff onto it, this was fun- Sio

Next we added the title, words and grass. We made the grass out of flowers and ribbon- Chelsie

After that we added the leaves, we decorated them with our photos and found out facts about the cultures- Helen

Finally, we made the kite. We used different patterns to stick on it. Mine was a Maori pattern- CJ

We hope you like our cultural tree, feel free to come check it out!
